I link to a lot of stories about digital camera tips (mainly because I'm hoping some of them will rub off on my own photography), but I'll admit that sometimes these tips are obviously written for a more advanced audience, lacking in detailed, step-by-step instructions on how to achieve the effect you want. No more! Enter Nikon School, courtesy of Flickr, a mini-site filled with plenty of instructional advice on how to improve your shots, complete with detailed yet simple steps and interactive exercises that will help any budding photographer.
Some of the most useful exercises that I've found (find them under the "Choose Your Passion" heading):
All the tips are really easy to understand, even if you're a novice. Also, don't miss the "How Do I" section for even more tips and advice.
The catch, of course, is that the tips are designed for higher-end Nikon cameras, so if you have a different camera (and you probably do), you'll have to do a little translation on applying these tips to your camera. Despite that, I think the tips are really worthwhile and, more importantly, very easy to follow and understand. Give them a whirl this weekend!
