An Xbox 360 Arcade for $99, a 40GB PS3 for $139, or Wii for $79? Talk about Sophie's choice. Yes, it's that time of year again, when Amazon offers ridiculous deals on a limited number of devices based on what customers vote for.
Much like last year, six rounds of gadget deals will be offered. Customers get three deals to choose from; only the deal getting the most votes goes on sale at that price. (The others will be sold at a "slightly lower" discount, says Amazon.) In most cases, 500 to 1,000 devices will be offered at that price. And if last year is any guide, those will probably sell out in seconds when the bargains go up for sale. This year is a little different, though: Rather than being a challenge to see who can reload their web browser the quickest when the zero hour arrives, Amazon will randomly select people who voted to see if they get the product at the bargain price. You'll still want to check in as early as possible, and that means 12:01 a.m., Pacific time, each day.
Voting has begun now: You can vote for all six rounds today. The sales themselves begin on November 22 and end November 28. You have to check back at www.amazon.com/customersvote each day during the promotion to see if you've been selected.
Good luck!
Oh, and as for that first option, it's easily headed the direction of the Wii, which has 55% of the vote. Can I get two?

You should relook at the rules. This is a copy/paste from Amazon regarding the selection for the products that you choose, but are not the winning product: What about the products that don't win each round? Don't worry--they'll find good homes too. The runners-up will also be discounted (by smaller amounts) and offered to a limited number of randomly selected customers who voted for them. So...there is no need to check in at 12:01 AM.
scottie - I would expect that all products (winners or no) will be available in limited quantities. Logging in later may lead to sellout conditions.
They are limited. They are selecting the same number of people as quantities. Last year, the unclaimed goods were sold on a first come first serve basis. However, I did discover this in the fine print: If due to a technical, equipment, printing, production, or other error of any kind, more claim codes are issued for any item than the number of items listed as available, Amazon.com reserves the right to void all codes issued and to select those customers who will have the opportunity to purchase the item at the promotional price from among those customers to whom a code had been issued. In no event will Amazon be liable for selling more items at the promotional price than the number of items stated as available for the promotion. Any claim code obtained as a result of a printing, production, equipment, technical or other error, or otherwise not received through legitimate or authorized channels shall be void. So Mr. Null, perhaps I will take your advice. Just in case Amazon manages to bungle it up!
well guess what? we got took. several people voted, on time, and when they(we) went back to check at 12:01 pst we were told we hadn't voted. i will no longer shop at amazon.

WOW! THANKS A MILLION! I am crossing my fingers to get a chance at buying the Wii for that price!
