Scenario: You're up and about, away from a desk, but you still need to get some work done. Maybe taking inventory in the storeroom, or even waiting in line somewhere. The point is you have no chair, no table, no workspace, and hunching over a laptop on the ground is no one's idea of good ergonomics.
Enter the Connect-A-Desk, a neat little solution for mobile laptop users, as long as you don't mind looking a little nerdy along the way.
The Connect-A-Desk is a sturdy plank that straps over your shoulders and rests against your waist, using a foam-padded bumper for comfort and support. Just plop your laptop on top of it and go. After setting it up for the first time, I found it to be a remarkably comfortable and usable system for computing on the go. It isn't perfect, requiring you to strain your neck down a bit and keep your hands awfully close to your body while you're typing, but it's infinitely better than hauling your computer around and dropping to the floor whenever you need to work on it. For light duty that requires walking around and typing on the go, it's a good solution.
At $35, it's maybe a bit on the pricey side, but probably worth it if your back hurts from being stuck on the ground as you try to get on-the-go work done. Just don't try giving one to someone as a Valentine's Day present...

^ Such a random comment. Good thought behind the thing, but there's no way in heck you could get me to wear that thing. I'm an unashamed geek but mm mm, not happening.
I use my connect-a-desk for gathering information while listing homes. It's a great timesaver and should be an asset to anyone compiling data on appraisals or inspections. calilou
This takes the whole multi-tasking American to a new level, and I'm not implying that's necessarily good. I am as big a fan of tech as the next person (and do indeed see some usefulness in this product), but this whole Gotta-Be-Connected-At-All-Times thing is getting a bit ridiculous. Why don't we just jump to the chip implantation in our brains and be done with the multi-tasking revolution.
Kinda awkward, but it'd come in handy in an emergency, like paying bills at the last minute,or whatever. Maybe they could modify it so it's not so uncomfortable. Then sell a better, lighter one. Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. N.Y.

I have dealt with similar smugness and non-responsiveness regarding a defective gift card for 50.00. I since never shop at Best Buy.
