Recently I wrote about Steve Pavlina, who had been experimenting with polyphasic sleep, or taking short naps throughout the day instead of "sleeping all night." After 5 1/2 months of doing it, he's finally given it up and gone back to crashing out like the rest of us.
While he'll miss the extra hours of waking time that polyphasic sleep gave him, he realized there was one big problem with the plan: The rest of the world isn't on polyphasic sleep. Staying up all night is great if you work alone, but there's only so much poker you can play to kill the time. And the naps during the daytime, when everyone else is charging hard at 100 percent, killed off some of his productivity and ability to work with others when they wanted to work.
Pavlina's entire sleep log is available now on his web site, where you can see all the pros and cons of this unique sleeping schedule as well as his personal experiences with it.
