It would certainly be a first for the gaming world: Peekaboo Pole Dancing, a company which makes kitschy, novelty stripper pole kits for use in the home (one of which is endorsed by Carmen Electra), wants to release a version for the Nintendo Wii.
While details are sketchy, the thought is likely that such a game would take advantage of the Wii Fit balance board, which arrives next month. You can imagine how such a "game" might work, with players tasked with balancing on the pole for certain lengths of time or in certain positions. Kind of like Dance Dance Revolution for the bachelorette party set.
Nintendo, on the other hand, probably wouldn't go anywhere near such an idea. The company has already come under fire for allowing Rockstar Games to develop a Wii version of Manhunt 2, which puts the player in the shoes of an escaped lunatic on a killing spree. The game carries an M (Mature) rating (and originally had an AO (Adults Only) rating) and featured such gory details as being able to use the Wii controller in realistic fashion as players lopped off the limbs of mutilated victims onscreen. Many decried such violence on a platform designed for the youth market, and advocates would certainly react similarly to the sexual content, implied or explicit, in a title like the proposed one.
But while the Wii may be targeted primarily at kids, it's certainly developed a grown-up following in its own right, and that some portion of that audience would probably embrace a pole dancing game. And just because it includes a long metal pole, that doesn't mean the game would necessarily have to be sexual or include nudity at all. And it would certainly be a better workout than just standing there on the Wii Fit's plastic board.
Anyone out there clamoring to drop the Nunchuck and climb a pole instead?

Wii definitley needs more adult games. I have a blast playing with my young daughters but I still enjoy a good killing once in awhile. Thats why these games come with ratings. Leisure Suit Larry needs to be in one of the next games!!!
i think that it's important for Wii too develop their adult following, and if that includes stripper poles then why not? it's not like a kid can sneak a pole into their house without anyone noticing. why not explore the options?
They should of been smart and made it for the 360. Then no one would of cared.
What's next? ----- simulation where the nunchuck is embedded with sensors down it's length? I think this would be putting technology to good use. Improving the lives of all involved.
I would buy this sooo fast! I've been trying to get my husband to install a "real" pole at our house so I can use it for exercise, and he won't......I'll be the first in line to get it if it does come out!
I guess it could be looked at as the starting point for a career... ...do strippers have a resume? So what inspired you to become a pole dancing stripper? "I started pole dancing at 12 years old on the Wii."
I think that it is a great idea especially for those of us who do not have a SFactor Gym in the area. It is great exercise and plus what would it hurt to be able to spice things up a little for those of us who have been married for awhile.
