Forecasting Airline Prices

Here's a nifty little travel site that was sent to me yesterday: Farecast.

Now, many many travel sites work like Farecast: You input your prospective flying dates, and the site scours the web for the best deals. Nifty sliders let you select based on the number of stops, the price of the flight, and the time of departure and arrival. (If you want to stay in the Yahoo! family, I highly—and independently—recommend Yahoo! FareChase, by the way.)

Anyway, what Farecast has that FareChase doesn't are two cool features: A fare history that shows you how prices for your city-to-city itinerary have changed over the last 75 days, and a prediction about how fares will change over the next seven days. (In this test run, Farecast predicts prices will rise $50 over the next week.)

The only catch? Right now Farecast is in beta and it only works if Boston or Seattle are either an arrival or destination city. Click "Add My City" to vote for your hometown to be added to the system. (Considering the site is only two days old, cut 'em some slack for now). I'll update this post when the site comes out of beta.

Would be cool if they could get most of the main cities up.

Add a map, graphic, & sort option that shows duration of travel (air time and layovers) in realtionship to cost. ---Thanks.
