Bummed that the latest QWERTY BlackBerrys, including the 8800 and the dual-mode, GSM/CDMA 8830, didn't come with built-in cameras? Then the new Curve might be for you. Armed with a full QWERTY keypad, a trackball and a music player, the EDGE-only Curve (formerly known as the 8300) could be just the ticket for BlackBerry fans with a taste for multimedia.

The Curve lacks the 3G abilities of the recent 8830—so sorry, no high-speed Web browsing or data transfers—but it does come with a two-megapixel camera (although it doesn't shoot video, according to PC Magazine), along with a music/video player and a bundled PC media manager courtesy of Roxio. You'll be able to store hundreds of songs thanks to the microSD expansion slot, which can handle memory cards up to 4GB in size. Ready to rock? You can listen to your favorite tunes over a stereo Bluetooth headset, and RIM has thoughtfully added a standard 3.5mm minijack for stereo earbuds. No word yet on whether the 0.6-ounce Curve will work with Cingular Music, a service that lets you play subscription tunes from Napster and Yahoo! Music on your phone.

Look for the Curve to arrive in AT&T's lineup within the next few weeks; no details on pricing just yet.

i have a curve and it is amazing. There are some features that are missing but it is still a great phone. I bought it strictly because i could use my own music for ring tones and it may not have high speed internet but it is darn fast for a phone.
