Thanks to a pending lawsuit over the massive Xbox Live failures during the holiday, Microsoft's Larry Hryb, a.k.a. "Major Nelson," says he can no longer tell us how repairs are going.

The only reason that this lawsuit has any traction at all is because Microsoft dropped the ball. As it stands, they let a lot of their customers down, in what will likely prove to be the MSFT entertainment divisions' most profitable quarter to date. To make matters worse information that MSFT did disseminate was deliberately vague or just flat out wrong. None of this would be an issue if MSFT had correctly projected the required load on the Xbox live servers. At the very least, the problems should have been fixed immediately. MSFT certainly should have the money, resources and manpower to do so. The goal of the lawsuit is to hold MSFT accountable for their services. Again, this wouldn't even be an issue if they did their job right.
This is just further evidence of our litigious society going hay-wire. I believe companies should be accountable for their mistakes, with customers being compensated with a free arcade game, this is fulfilled. What you have now are people who have nothing to do but play video games trying to sue to make a quick buck. Please get a life.
Microsoft up front and honest with issues, fixes, and expected results that is laughable. Were they upfront and honest about the whole "red ring of death" situation. heck they still have not come out and said there is a problem with the "general hardware failure". All they have done is give you a 3 year warranty which still puts you without the hardware you shelled out $400 for. My expierence so far has left a less than favorable view of their gaming division, because since March 2007 I have sent my console in for repairs 2 times and each time its sent back its an entirely new console. I feel if they are just going to give me another console they should merely send a box to give them the defective system and inside the box they give me a voucher to get a system at a local retailer. As for an arcade game as reimbersment for lack of a service I pay for thats a little lack lustor. Thats like your satalite or cable going out for 2 weeks out of the month and they swat you away with a free ppv movie.

So it's annoying to learn that Microsoft is circling the wagons in the face of the lawsuit - They have no options. You can thank those bringing the lawsuits for the silence. When facing litigation, mum's the word. They don't have high priced lawyers for nothing.
