Tomorrow marks the beginning of the 2007 Home Entertainment Show here in New York City, where high-end home theater companies gather to show off their ultra-pricey wares—and trust me, there won't be any budget home-theaters-in-a-boxes in sight. So it seems fitting that Shiny Shiny is running a story on the most expensive speakers in the world. The winner? Meet the Grand Enigma from Kharma, just $1 million if you act now.

The Grand Enigma Reference System comes with a galaxy of drivers, tweeters and woofers—perfect for, say, your ballroom (provided you put some sound dampeners on those marble walls). But don't take out a second mortgage on your mansion just yet—there's only one set of the Enigmas in the world, and it lives in a ginormous cellar in Belgium. Sorry, Charlie. You can, however, get your hands on the $600,000 Infinite Wisdom Grande, a 3,800-pound system with a pair of speaker cabinets that are 13 feet tall—not exactly suitable for dorm rooms. Finally, for bargain hunters, check out the Eggleston Ivy's, a $100,000 pair of loudspeakers weighing 790 pounds each. The Ivy's may be a bit mousy compared to their dipped-in-gold competition, but they'll probably do justice to your CD collection.
