Lost in the shuffle after the recent news that Netflix is raising prices for Blu-ray rentals was this little nugget: The movies-by-mail titan says three more manufacturers are ready to add Netflix's movie streaming technology to their upcoming products.

Netflix has, for some reason, decided to leave its new "partners" unnamed for now, although it did reveal that one of them is a "small company" that may have a product ready—one that presumably would stream Netflix movies over the Net—ready "sooner than Q4," or (in other words) by late fall/early winter.

Netflix announced in January that it's working with LG on some Netflix-enabled products, including HDTVs, Blu-ray players, and—hopefully—a stand-alone Netflix set-top box, and recent surveys have been asking subscribers whether they'd be interested in streaming Netflix movies over the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Meanwhile, we’ve been hearing word that Netflix competitor Blockbuster is working on its own TV set-top box, although Blockbuster HQ has yet to make anything official.

This latest announcement encouraging news for anyone waiting to stream Netflix movies on something other than a PC, although frankly, after all the hints and promises, I'm ready for the other shoe to drop.

So, question for you: Would you pony up for a new HDTV or Blu-ray player if streaming Netflix movies were part of the mix? What about a stand-alone Netflix box? Or are you happy getting your movies in the mail?

I'm interested in the set top box and the xbox 360 streaming. I already rent movies over xbox live and like it. I think it would be great if netflix had a service that streamed HD movies over the xbox 360. The set top box i would go for if it was priced around 100-125 and had a reasonable fee (hopefully built into the cost of by current membership. I dont know about the TV's with the service built in. I would never buy a Tv just so i could stream movies, and id be hesitant about buying one that did.

I would like to have it implemented over the PS3 so I don't have to buy yet another box. There only so many inputs my TV can take.

Well, so far I have an extra HDMI slot on my TV, so I'd be interested in a separate Netflix box. I don't have or want cable since my new TV gets great digital reception. Netflix serves as my replacement for the movie channels I'd get if I had cable.

Call me old school, but I still prefer to throw in a physical disc to watch my movies. I just don't feel that the internet is up to par with the speeds needed to successfully stream HD media.
