Complete with Xenon flash, auto focus, and face detection, the C905 makes for one of the most feature-packed camera phones I've ever seen—and yes, it could well make it's way to North America.

Sony Ericsson various Cyber-shot phones have a bad habit of never quite making it to the U.S. (at least not with a carrier), but the 3G-enabled C905a comes with support for tri-band 850/1900/2100 HSDPA networks—including AT&T's, which bodes well for an eventual stateside release.

In any case, the C905 (on paper, at least) makes for one of the most enticing camera phones available, what with its whopping 8.1MP sensor (as good as my stand-alone office camera), Xenon flash, auto focus with face detection, image stabilization, red-eye reduction, and BestPic feature (a burst mode that lets you quickly pick the best photo of the bunch).

The C905 also comes armed with GPS, good for geotagging your snapshots, along with video recording and photo-blogging capabilities.

When you're done snapping pictures, you can also crank out tunes on the media player or the FM radio, and listen with a wireless headset over the stereo Bluetooth connection. Oh yeah—you can make calls on it, too (quad-band GSM for placing call on worldwide networks, no less).

Also on tap: a mobile WAP browser, support for POP, IMAP, and Exchange ActiveSync e-mail, voice memos, a slot for M2 memory cards (a 2GB Memory Stick Micro module comes in the box), Wi-Fi, and a 2.4-inch glass-coated display.

Look for the C905 to arrive in world markets (including, hopefully, the U.S.) by the end of the year; no word on pricing just yet.

Price... your left arm. (If left-handed, your right arm). I'd buy it.

Typo alert! You probably meant 2Gb and not 2 Mb for the memory stick

first of all, its a sony phone. anyone who's ever had a sony phone knows they are cool on things can do but not very reliable phones. why must they use plastic for body. iphone wins because of simplicity even my mother figured out everything on iphone.

Pretty soon we will have to purchase a new phone every three months because of the new spectacular features. Add a physical small keyboard and you can text, email, work on MS Office Suite and file and retrieve soon eliminating the need for a laptop. Improve the video and add memory. Increase the access to high speed Inet and what else?
