Finally, some good news for MobileMe users, many of whom have been locked out of their e-mail accounts for more than a week. That said, Apple still has a mess on its hands, as various bugs and glitches continue to plague angry subscribers.Â
On the recently launched "MobileMe Status" blog, Apple employee "David G." wrote Tuesday night that all e-mail accounts, including all messages before the July 18 outage began, had been "completely" restored. Apple previously said that about one percent of MobileMe users had been locked out of their e-mail, and that some messages might be lost forever.
David G. also noted that a dedicated chat line had been established for any lingering mail problems.
Still, the news from Apple isn't all good. Among other issues, David G. says that Apple's been chasing down a bug that erases contacts and events from iPhones and iPod Touches.
And from the looks of various MobileMe support forums, users are still dealing with a swarm of other bugs, including calendar and contact syncing problems, push e-mail that isn't arriving instantly on iPhones, deleted e-mails not syncing on Me.com, iDisk sync failures (tell me about it), and sluggish Me.com performance.
All in all, it's been a disastrous re-launch of Apple's old Mac.com service (indeed, some MobileMe users who'd been ported over from Mac.com are pleading—in vain—to go back). If you ask me, Apple should continue to comp MobileMe users (who've already gotten a month's free service) until it irons out all the kinks, and anyone who wants a full, no-questions-asked refund should get one.
So, fellow MobileMe users—who else is still having problems? Anyone still locked out of their e-mail? Fire away.

As a .mac subscriber who has faithfully paid their 100.00 a year I thought the new service would be great, I have not seen one plus yet. Mountains of problems, no syncing of my email, and certainly no support in regards... my question now is how much is my mac email address worth?
I haven't had the first problem with the MobileMe service. It is sooooo much better than what I had with Exchange/Blackberry. I wish everyone could have the same experience I am having! Hang in there - hopefully they can get the issues resolved for everyone. It really is a wonderful alternative to "the other guys".

It has been much better for me the last week. Still buggy though: 1 - Does not keep me logged in even thought I checked the "Keep me logged in for 2 weeks" box. 2 - Calendar subscriptions do not show on the MobileMe calendar (e.g. I cannot see my wife's calendar). 3 - I need to test, but I pretty sure my MobileMe calendar is not syncing with my macs at home. 4 - Just slow in general. I trust Apple to fix these things. Lets hope my faith is not misplaced.
