Spy Shots: Motorola's New Sidekick?

Looks like T-Mobile is teeing up another Sidekick—but this time, the handset appears to be coming courtesy of Motorola. The KickRAZR, perhaps?

Gizmodo got its hands on some snazzy images of the rumored Motorola Zante, a sleek, glossy-looking thing with the Sidekick's signature swiveling display and a full QWERTY keypad. Indeed, the basic design of the phone looks pretty close to the Sidekicks of old, complete with the "Jump" key and the pea-sized trackball. In fact, besides the shiny new shell, it's tough to find anything all that different from the Sidekick 3 (assuming the leaked spec sheet is accurate): there's still a music player, a 1.3-megapixel camera, plenty of IM options (including AIM, Yahoo! Messenger and MSN), a solid Web browser, Bluetooth, push e-mail (nothing new) and the aging but still intuitive Danger OS. All well and good, but still no 3G (not surprising, since T-Mobile is still EDGE-only in the U.S.) and the 65,000-color display is sorely in need of an upgrade.

Anyway, Gizmodo's spy is reporting a Q3 release date for the Zante—in other words, within the next couple of months—with a retail price of about $270, in line with previous full-fledged Sidekicks. Stay tuned.

I was hoping Danger(and now that Motorola is the developer) would improve the camera, with video capture and playback, 3G support, maybe wifi. T-mobile doesn't support 3G yet but they should. I also thoght of adding more MS services not only 3(AIM, Yahoo, MSM)and the still not having a lot of memory. With the mini SD(NOT microSD, Mini SD) up to 2 GB and the internal flash still low at 128 MB while I was hoping for a minimun of 256 MB. Also I think that they should add the ability to set your MP3s as ringtones, I guess they only want you to buy your ringtones from the catalog. This won't be compare with the multimedia iphone. I don't really like it to have a Touch screen, I got a Nintendo DS and it's cool to play games with it, and a Pocket PC with touch screen and its cool too, but they get scratches so easily. Hope this is isn't the SK4.

It is , called the side kick ng, if the screen has been upgraded its a waste so many other phones out there sony m600, or p1, do the same thing with a much more compact package. Im sorry but until they change the display and size its overrated

i agree with everything alejandrorevelessolis says. But just sit tight and wait for the Sidekick LX (Shuriken). I am not buying a Sidekick Slide. Stupid. Motorola sucks. and Yahoo you got some specs wrong on the phone so you might want to fix it...
