No massive lines, and by all accounts, the Android-powered G1 was still in stock at local T-Mobile stores Wednesday morning. That said, if you want one before November, you'd better strike while the iron is hot.

The G1 (check out my full review) popped up on T-Mobile's Web site early Wednesday—with a prominent "extremely limited supply" warning—while local T-Mobile stores opened their doors at 8 a.m. sharp to start selling the new HTC-made Android phone.

At the Market Street T-Mobile store in San Francisco, the G1 went on sale a day early, with VentureBeat reporting that about 150 people were in line awaiting the 6 p.m. sale time.

So far, it sounds like T-Mobile stores opened to modest lines Wednesday morning, with crowds dispersing relatively early. The NYC-area T-Mobile stores I called this morning said they still had the G1 in stock; however, they also warned that their supplies were dwindling, and most guessed that they'd be sold out by the end of the day. Word is that new G1 shipments won't arrive until November.

If you're looking to pick up the G1 yourself, keep in mind that it'll only be on sale at T-Mobile stores within the 95 cities covered by T-Mobile's nascent 3G network; you can get the details right here. If you're not in a T-Mobile 3G coverage area, you can still order the G1 on the Web, although you should be prepared for slower EDGE data speeds when you're not in Wi-Fi range.

So, who picked up a new G1 today? Anyone wait in line? Were any T-Mobile stores sold out? Let us know.
