Dying to tell Apple to add copy and paste on the iPhone? How about video recording? Or picture messaging? If so, there's a new Web site just for you.
Sniffed out by
TechCrunch,
Pleasefixtheiphone.com (which bills itself as "a modern love poem from iPhone fans who just want to improve their iPhone[s]") lets users submit and vote for their most-wanted iPhone features, not to mention their most-despised bugs. As of Friday morning, there were a total of 1,073 "wishes" posted to the site, along with a whopping 145,000-plus votes. No word on whether Steve Jobs has Pleasefixtheiphone.com bookmarked in Safari—but he should.
Can you guess the most-wanted, still-missing iPhone feature? That's right: Copy and paste.
After that, we've got Flash support for Safari, iTunes syncing over Wi-Fi (hear, hear), landscape viewing for e-mail messages, picture messaging, and the ability to click the entire screen when taking a picture.
There's also a page for "fixed" items, including the ability to send and receive vCards (fixed thanks to an App Store program), iPhone tethering (ditto), speed dialing from the iPhone home screen (ditto, again).
Here's my suggestion (which has
already been submitted to the site): Fix e-mail fetching! It's been widely reported that for many users, automatic POP/IMAP fetching
seemed to stop working after firmware upgrade 2.1, and it's driving me nuts. iPhone firmware 2.2 is
said to be in beta, and it better include a fix, or I'll ... well, I guess I'll keep waiting (and fuming).
OK, iPhone users, let's hear it: What's the missing iPhone feature you want most? (And don't forget to
post your suggestions to the site.)
