Can't be bothered to create an account on microblogging sites like Twitter and Tumblr? Try this on for size: A service that lets you launch a blog by sending a single e-mail, no login required.

Launched back in June but new to me, Posterous is a blogging tool that's so ridiculously simple and clever, it made me smile. If you've ever wanted to try your hand at microblogging but you're too busy (or scattered) to sit down and create a username and password, Posterous is for you.

So here's how it works: Just send an e-mail to post@posterous.com. The subject line is your headline, the body is your text; attach an image to post a picture. And then ... well, that's it, really.

In a few minutes, you'll get an e-mail with the URL of your new blog. There's also a link that lets you edit your post, and if you're really feeling ambitious, you can go ahead and create an account to claim and customize your insta-blog. Too lazy to log in? No problem—just keep sending e-mails for each new post.

Want to see an example? Here's my new Posterous blog, created yesterday (and complete with pictures of my desk organizer and dirty keyboard). The URL—http://ben-tsv3v.posterous.com/—isn't all that elegant, but you can always create an account to claim a "yourname.posterous.com" address.

Give it a try, and post your blog below. Let's see who can get started fastest.

This really simplfies the process. That's one of the reasons I've never done one.
