I thought we were done with big phone announcements for the year, but it looks like Nokia had one last trick up its sleeves. Behold the N97, a sleek new touchscreen handset with 3G data access, a slide-out QWERTY keypad, and customizable widgets. Count on a hefty price tag, though.

the design is.... so unlike Nokia..
Design is unlike Nokia because it actually looks easy to handle... The brand usually just keeps the brick-style to all of it's handsets (some do slide) but this is kind of sexy. I like the phone... but not the price.
does anyone know what carrier that this phone is going to be on ?
Iphone is crap compared to this phone!! The reason this phone is better than an iphone is because it is an all in one device!! It does everything and iphone does while adding an excellent camera for pics or dvd quality video(iphones pathetic camera can't even record video)!! And in addition this phone has waaaay more memory than the iphone and the N97 is capable of over 35 hours of music playback!! Ipod can't even top that!!
What size camara has it got??
lets all think about the pricing for a second. the iphone on a plan costs 199 (8gb) on a 3-year term + the cost of the plan. i'll use my plan for example, and rogers pricing in canada. $48 gets me 100 weekday minutes unlimited eve/weekend starting at 6 500mb data plan caller id unlimited text (vid/pic included) enhanced voicemail whocalled (they send me a text message when i miss a call with the number that called)
