I thought we were done with big phone announcements for the year, but it looks like Nokia had one last trick up its sleeves. Behold the N97, a sleek new touchscreen handset with 3G data access, a slide-out QWERTY keypad, and customizable widgets. Count on a hefty price tag, though.

Seems like a really nice phone, but for it's hefty price, what good is it if it doesn't 'work' for you like the Samsung Omnia with it's Windows mobile 6 and 5MP camera & video functions. For $700. you'd expect the Nokia to do 'everything'.
Will see if Nokia N97 is better than my iphone..if somebody will give me N97.. then its BETTER..
I have had Blackberrys,iPhone and now the Nokia e71 and I can,t wait for the N97 if its built anything like my e71 it will beat the iphone hands down...and I'm not knocking iphone or Blackberry but I am so pleased with Nokia and will stick with them. Oh yea I'm not locked into any cell plan either.
omfg another iphone wannabe or killer lolz
iPhone is still the best
When will this phone be available stateside??
so this could be like mini loptop with features of mobile phone?

I've always wanted a nokia. unfortunately nokia (almost) never makes CDMA phones. If it performs as good as it sounds now, I'd have to think of defecting.
i think nokia still for the price cost to much, and some made in china
Nokia has the most logical and easiest software always. That is a fact. If you ever take a new phone and start to work and learn your way around it NOKIA is always the quickest you will learn. It just makes sense!
pretty cool.. waiting for the full reviews .^V
This phone sounds fantastic, but I'll wait until the price goes down.
That's cost is great
I must agree, hands off to Nokia for making great phones. I've had my original Nokia Go-Phone from ATT for over four years and absolutely no problems whatsoever. But now for my work, I need one that has Windows Mobile 6 and takes nice pictures, so that's why I'm considering the Samsung Omnia when it comes out in 09'. I'm not a phone whiz, so if anyone has any other suggestions, let me know. Thanks.
u kiddin? id rather this
hey joybaugh4him, samsung omnia is out now, at least for verizon
okay, keep in mind that that's an unlocked version for $700. and what's the difference between this thing and a voyager? this one slides sideways, the voyager flips open. there doesnt appear to be much more of a difference, so why the massive price tag? i'll stick with my LG instead of this Nokia thing.
Wow..advance featured..guess we prefer to make the world more complicated ha..consider those gadget a valueble item, like expensive watch..could attract other party to steal it, snatching more likely..Just PRO & CON thinking..

I have the AT&T Tilt that looks like and seems to operate the same as this one. Why all the hype about this one?
