Looks like the dreams of many a BlackBerry user are finally coming to fruition, as FCC documents have revealed an upcoming handset from RIM that features support for Wi-Fi.

Phonescoop managed to dig up the FCC approval docs for the new BlackBerrry, which detail an EDGE-enabled handset similar to the recent 8800 and 8830 models (the 8830 on Verizon Wireless is pictured here), this time with 802.11a/b/g support (plus a microSD slot for memory expansion and Bluetooth). No word on carriers or an exact release date, although FCC approval usually means we should see the phone in the flesh within a matter of weeks. It's excellent news for mobile road warriors looking to tap into their home and office wireless networks—and as Engadget Mobile points out, a Wi-Fi BlackBerry would be a great fit with T-Mobile's recently launched T-Mobile @Home Wi-Fi calling service.
