Want the right wristwatch to go with that new $88,000 Vertu phone on your belt? Check out this platinum watch from Swiss timepiece-maker Ulysse Nardin, a one of a kind (or rather, 99 of a kind) gem that gives you a UFO's-eye view of the Earth—all for the bargain price of $100,000.

No, it's not encrusted with jewels and it doesn't do Bluetooth, but the Tellurium J. Kepler Limited Edition watch (only 99 were made) has something you won't find on your everyday Timex: a rotating representation of the globe as it might be seen from above the North Pole, complete with a flexible spring representing the terminator between day and night, plus a perpetual calendar that makes a complete rotation once a year. Oh, and it's water resistant to 30 meters, although I'm not sure how the leather wrist strap will handle salt water.

Coincidently, the FDIC insures up to $100,000, but I'm pretty sure they won't cover your act of stupidity if you deplete your savings account and exchange it for one of these.

IMO, that's why 3rd world countries such as North Korea, China and Iran hate us. Because we're too excessively rich. LOL

Some people are so stupid, yes the watch tells time, Why use google when you have up to the millisecond info on your wrist??? And if you have any class you would not throw the price in anybody's face, that's just rude!! Truthfully, it is an ugly watch... LOL... I just ripped off the leather and put it on my keychain, work's that way too..

Sorry guys but let me fill ya in, designer watches (especially the lower numbers) only INCREASE in value over time. So this watch, even if it is silly, will only appreciate in value. So dont call someone who has money stupid for buying a watch like this, its an investment that they will make money on! example: Pocket watch from 1921, $1.20, 2007, $40,000! and thats money you can pass on to your kids. whos dumb now??

okay, if you have 100k to spend on a "watch" you have enough money to HAVE someone tell you what "TIME" it is. that money could be spent on much more IMPORTANT things, but if its your money; you are able to spend however you choose. things like education for WHITE people is very impotant. everythng is GIVEN to the immigrants; free health care, free housing and free schooling. donate blood, give to the people who really need the money, like schools, libraries, anything to do with children.

So what happened to old fashioned Timex that is water proof and only $20. Then give the rest of that $100,000. to a charity like Second Harvest or Habitit for Humanity or Cancer research?? Only rich people would think of this foolishness.

I see Ulysse Nardin will keep their place amongst the finest Swiss watchmakers with this latest piece. Although I certainly cant afford one, I'm not so short sighted as to not recognize the beauty and craftsmanship of this item. Truly remarkable! Kudos to Ulysse for keeping up with the big boys like Vacheron, JLC and Patek, and congrats to anyone sucessfull enough to obtain this fantastic watch!

What you sheep are missing is the fact that this is a collectors item and if anything it will only appreciate in value over time. If you're smart enough to get rich, you're most likely smart enough to stay rich.

This watch hardly makes sense to me. If it was a GPS thing that showed you where you were (like a secret agent) that would be useful. This? Nada.

My $12.95 Cssio has lasted 8 years and its still going strong and it tells me more than I need to know. If I had $100 grand to spend on a watch I'd give the other $99,987.05 to people that need food and clothes.

You can still get a good watch without spending so much. A Rolex will last forever and are quite stylish and can be bought for a mire $10,000. That would leave you $90,000 for incidentals. How stupid to spend that kind of money on a watch!

Look at it this way by making this watch many people can put food on the table, for they have jobs. If I were wealthy I'd buy one as an investment. I enjoy looking and handling excellent time pieces. It's not something I would wear though. That's why there are rich and poor people, so the rich can buy these beauties. To be rich you must work at it. Begin by doing your homework and get excellent grades and select a subject that is needed and you enjoy. Education is one of the secrets or simply marry rich. It may not be a $100,000 watch you would ever buy yet for much less that you can enjoy I screwed around when I was younger. I regret it now. You can always go into crime, but the working hours and effort.....

I think the rich are trying to come up with something to keep them from getting bored. 100k for a watch, what ever kind it is, is totally ridiculous! They should think of something of the same value that will help other people in need. And that's my opinion!!

Why would you pay for an expensive car, you can get a cheap one that works fine, yet most people try to get a finer ride over time, why critize others that would rather spend the money on a watch?...it's a hobby, actually much older than cars, this watch is a wonder of automation...get some perspective...
