The new PSP Go may have jettisoned the UMD disc drive installed on earlier PSP models, but that doesn't mean you won't be able to play your old UMD games on the new portable.

heck No!!! Why? Sony should of have resolved this issue before announcing it at E3. Bad marketing technique! No wonder their sales are down. Sony needs to market products that people want and stop producing proprietary crap. Look at Memory stick for an example. It's over priced and no manufacture likes to support it because Sony want to charge loyalty fee.
Absolutely, not like the original PSP came out a decade ago. I have about 45 plus UMD games, and all cases and artwork. I would be happy to transfer them to the Go, or even get free downloads based on my UMD ownership. But I had a recent realization. I will not purchase the Go, because UMD's wil dramatically fall in price, on Amazon, and I'll be able to enjoy my PSP 1000 for about two more years easily, before being "forced" to switch to all electronic.
Can't hurt and probably decrease my wait time for purchasing. Normally, for a switch like this, I would wait about a year and then buy. However, if they let me switch my handful of game I actually buy one when they come out.
I have the 3000 series PSP but I'll still probably upgrade to the go. thats my nickname for it. just because its so much lighter and the 16 Gig hardrive is cool

I lost my PSP-1000 a year a go and though I have an iPhone, I still have UMD games lying around (some not even been played nor finished).
