Yes, friends, I was a big Morrissey fan back in college—in fact, I even went to a Morrissey concert with my roommate at Cal Expo in Sacramento, way (way) back in 1991. I'd almost forgotten about that show ... but a new concert database from Songkick has it listed right here, along with about a million of other live gigs from the past.
CNET News.com has the scoop on the new service from
Songkick, a site that tracks your favorite bands and sends reminders of their upcoming appearances. "Think of it like a virtual shoe box for your old ticket stubs," says CNET, and that's an apt description of how Songkick's new service works.
Once you sign in (for free), you can start searching for live concerts you've attended in the past; I started with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band in late July 2008 at Giants Stadium (for the "Magic" tour), and low and behold,
there it was (also attended by another Songkick member, as it turns out).

After you've found an old concert you've attended, you click the "I was there" button, and then you can start adding items like the setlist, photos, videos, and additional concert information—although not, notably, bootleg recordings. You can also rate the concert and write up a brief review.
Songkick has listings for more than a million old concerts in its new database, according to CNET, with information culled from various blogs, fan sites, and official band pages.
I put Songkick to the test that old Morrissey concert I attended at Sacramento's Cal Expo Amphitheater, almost … oh man, 18 years ago. To my surprise, I
found a listing in Songkick's database—a bare-bones one, mind you, but there nonetheless. Unfortunately, I didn't have any pictures to add—no digital cameras back then—although I did upload some snapshots for the Bruce concert last July at the Meadowlands.
So, you music lovers out there, go check the new Songkick database, start filling in the blanks, and let us know what you think.
