You'd think that gaming would be the perfect tonic for a deep recession, but the spreadsheets don't lie—and indeed, according to the latest numbers, gaming revenue hasn't been this low in almost two years. That said, if you're a Ultimate Fighting fan, May was your month.

Hmm all that Mac user can play is petting games nothing like hard core PC game users can play. With a $2000 IMac and you get notning for it. PC RULES !!!!!!!
I haven't cut back on games, but I see that the community I am a part of (a gaming one) has. People are without jobs or just being careful, I think. g_gunde is also incorrect about how not much has come out. Some great games have recently been released other than Sims 3. Red Faction: Guerrilla, Prototype, UFC (as mentioned in the blog), and of course InFamaous were all released in the last few weeks. In fact, this is one of the few summers where there are actually several good games to look forward to. It's been a long time coming and now people aren't buying them? It's too bad...
@1 wot u talking bout Red Faction is out too the autumn will change everything
the recession may have a hurt video game sales "a bit" but this recent drop isn't a cause of concern yet simply because the marquee games have yet to be released. let's wait till fall

Nothing really big has come out right now. The Sims 3 came out last week, and its selling like hotcakes. The only big release coming out soon is Ghostbusters, and its more of a niche title like Riddick.
