A new survey finds the iPhone to be one of the most reliable smartphones on the market—provided you don't let it slip through your fingers. Turns out glass touchscreens and gravity don't mix.

My Treo 755p was slung off of the top of my Wife's Honda Pilot @ 30mph to an asphalt road and survived with a few scratches to the case (touchscreen intact) A friend's iPhone 3G slipped out of his hands in Home Depot (as I watched) and the screen spiderwebbed, and the phone never powered up again. I'd like to know the breakdown of the failure causes for the Blackberry and Treo, as you detailed them for the iPhone.
@drkbowers: Me too. Unfortunately, SquareTrade didn't break out accidental failure rates for BlackBerrys or Treos as they did for the iPhone.
I dropped my iPhone one time through the life of me having it, and its ----- tered the screen, the home button stopped working, and apple was unable to provide with a new iPhone without paying the full $499 price tag! OUCH!
alkasi2000 . . . calm down . . . geez!! . . . drkbowers was merely relating two scenarios as they relate to the article . . . sensitive one aren't you? . . . and what facts do you want him to check?? . . . he didn't cite any statistics . . .

My father dropped and cracked the face 2 weeks into having his new one. After he found out the price to repair, he bought a 3Gs.
