Want a collection of 5,000 movies that you can start watching immediately, at the press of a button? The Vudu set-top box just might be the answer, and it'll arrive on store shelves in a matter of weeks.

Dumb
I am deff not gonna give up my dvd collection for something like this, doesn't seem practical
this thing will fail so badly its not even funny
what a waste, if you can't save them like dvr whats the point.
Does this mean I should cancel my netflix subscription?
If it's not HD, who cares? DVD players are $20 and the movies are either $5 off eBay/used Blockbuster bins or free if you were the type to download them. I mean, I bought a HD Player for $200 last month and you know they're going to be $100 next year. Why do I need this?
HoHum. This is already available with the Amazon Unboxed feature on TiVo.
Does anyone know what type of movies this comes with when u buy it? it says 5000 instantly are they actual popular movies or are they just free movies that no one has ever herd of?
Blah and cant find that many movies worth paying for these days anyways....
i would think that the satellite and cable companies could do a better job on this project. one day we should all be able to type in any movie we want and play it for a price of course. not too crazy about this toy.
Dont we have this allready? its called torrents!!!
Sounds ok, but what do you do when the hard drive fails and all those movies you paid for go poof?
This seems really cool! I want one! CRaig www.OutstandingEBooks.com
It looks like another piece of worthless crap. Why spend 400 dollars when I already have a dvd player and can go to the store and get any movie I want?
I have to correct your claim that the Xbox Marketplace offers sub-DVD quality content. All TV shows and movies are offered in 480p and many at 720p.
What is the difference between this and having a Server connected to your TV? With a computer I can surf the web, play games, and watch TV.
sounds like pay per view on directv, but i get highdef on the sat., and i dont have to spend 400.00. waste of money. btw, i can buy a decent laptop for the 400, or close anyway, and dowmload movies off of the many pay sites. then i will have a laptop that i can do much more with than take up room on my ent. center.
Tivo offers this already with their unbox feature, linking to amazon.
yes, why do we need this? Should we all just stay indoors and never leave the house again?
