I've been known to dig up a screwdriver and open the occasional DVD player when, say, a disc gets jammed in the tray, but prying open an iPod with a little screwdriver has never seemed like a good idea to me. Yet here is Blue Raven Technology with its new series of DIY iPod battery replacement kits, which promise to help you swap in a new battery for your player. I gave it a shot myself yesterday, and guess what? It worked, but my iPod's lovely shell suffered some ugly dings in the process. Ugh.

I got my replacement battery from iPodJuice and was able to replace my battery without any scratches to the case. It takes patience to use the tool to open the case, but it's not impossible. If you've got experience opening up computers and other assorted electronic devices, this isn't hard at all. Give it a shot.
are there any projects for the zune? i assume my battery wont die for a while, but it would be nice to already have the kit
that is kool i should tri
I think that a iPod battery replacement kit is a good idea.....I just wish that it wouldn't ding up the iPod so much. I should buy a kit anyway, though, so I don't have to keep replacing my iPod when the battery is shot. I'm already on my second iPod.
