Just days after announcing that Sony would kill off the 20GB PlayStation 3 here in the U.S., company execs are admitting that they're considering making a new version of the console with a larger hard drive.
Wired News's Game | Life is reporting that during the company's quarterly earnings report yesterday, Sony rep Satoshi Fukouka told investors that a new variety of the PS3 with a "bigger" hard drive could be in the works, but didn't go into further detail. The move makes sense, given that the newly introduced Xbox 360 Elite comes with a 120GB drive, compared to the current top-of-the-line PS3's 60GB drive. Of course, now everyone's wondering whether Sony will drop the price of the $600 60GB PlayStation 3 if a new, bigger model does indeed arrive, or instead go nuts and sell the new model for, say, upwards of $700. Stay tuned.
