Forget media servers, graphics cards, and the latest iPod docks—this hit of this year's DigitalLife show weighs about an ounce or so, has wings, and delights in buzzing over (and into) the heads of unsuspecting attendees on the show floor.
Based on the
Dragonfly, which took off earlier this year,
Wowwee's Flytech Barry B. Benson (a clever marketing tie-in with the upcoming "Bee Movie") is a featherweight, foam-and-carbon fiber bee that's a blast to pilot; I tried my shaky hand at the controls and managed to terrify some kids playing Dance Dance Revolution next door. The battery-powered remote has twin sticks: one for making turns and another that acts as the throttle. Because Barry B. flaps his wings like, well, a bee, he doesn't soar like a remote-controlled plane or helicopter; instead, you have to fly him in circles to gain altitude. I didn't so much fly the bee as crash him—into fake bushes, the ground, and a crowd of startled teens—but the motorized bug looked no worse for the wear, and the Wowwee rep assured me that a little practice makes perfect.
Look for the Flytech Barry B. Benson to land in stores starting October 1 for $49.

I have some serious vinyl from back in the day and I want to start transferring some to CD'S and MP3'S I saw the USB turntable from ION and found only one review on the turntable. Are they worth going out and purchase or wait because something else is coming down the pipe soon?
