First announced way, way back in 1997, the sequel to the beloved Duke Nukem 3D has been in development for so long that it's become the poster child for vaporware. But a one-minute teaser for Duke Nukem Forever> just hit the web, and the developers of the game swear that it'll be ready...well, as soon as it's done.
The minute-long teaser (which is available at Shacknews) features little more than our muscle-bound, cigar-chomping hero pumping iron in a dimly lit room, intercut with flashes of snarling monsters and some very big guns. Not much to go on, but it's the most we've seen of Duke Nukem Forever since a brief trailer was shown at the 2001 edition of the E3 gaming conference.
The long and torturous history of Duke Nukem Forever's development (check out Shacknews's timeline) has become mythic in scale. Originally set to arrive in 1998, Forever's release date was pushed back to 2000, then to 2001...and then to 2004, and beyond. The game was never officially cancelled, but by 2003, it had already won Wired's Vaporware Lifetime Achievement Award.
Duke Nukem co-creator George Broussard tells Shacknews that Forever will indeed see the light of day...although all he would give in terms of a new release date is a now-infamous answer: "When it's done." We've heard that before.

From the looks of the trailer, I seem to think that Call of Duty 1 and Doom 2 has far better graphics.
