Talk about the ultimate graphical user interface! This web site can tell you if you're a go-getter, a slacker, or a risk taker just by getting you to pick through some photos. They call it your VisualDNA; I call it Hollywood Squares meets a Rorschach test. Whatever you call it, Imagini is worth a five-minute break. (And 750,000 people in the last two weeks thought so also.)
You read a few words like "Art is..." or "My Bedroom is..." and then choose from a grid of 15 photos to select the photo that best represents the real you. Rothko or Renoir? The Alps or the Grand Canyon? A cigarette or chocolate? Ultimately your photo-answers will categorize you as a Dreamer, Go-Getter, Escape Artist, or one of 14 others. The final write-up, broken out into categories including love, habits, and fun, is filled with just enough psychoanalytics to keep you wondering whether there isn't something to all of this.
Once you've got your type pegged, you do a quick sanity check against everyone else to see how weird it was for you to have picked the photo of the girl with her fingers up her nose. The site gives you the aggregate of most popular choices. And lest you think there isn't a social networking side to all of this, you can post your profile and find your VisualDNA matches. (Read the privacy policy. They take it seriously, but do collect certain information.)
When you tire of yourself, there are some other interesting, more outwardly focused activities on the site. You'll notice the photos have a slightly British tinge to them, and for good reason, but you'll notice that the experience of defining yourself visually transcends location.
