Rick Smolan was one of the first to catch on about collaboration and social networking on the Internet. He harnessed the power of the people by asking them to submit photos for a series of books that include A Day in the Life of America: America 24/7, 24 Hours in Cyberspace, and One Digital Day. Each of the books has submissions from all sorts of people in all sorts of places and that's what makes them unique.
Now Smolan is moving closer to home, literally. The newest project is called America at Home. For the next week, camera wielding Americans everywhere are invited to capture digital images and submit one that is most evocative of "home."
The end result will be 100 photos that will be published as America at Home (March 2008). If your photo is selected you can opt to personalize the book with your photo on the photo jacket. Submissions are being accepted from September 17 through September 23. There may be no place like home, but no two are the same either.
