What Is Bill Clinton Giving Away in Those Goodie Bags?

It's the annual Clinton Global Initiative, where world leaders, celebrities, socialites, and policy-conscious captains of industry pony up $15K apiece to help solve the world's biggest problems. At that price, it's doubtful they're attending for the swag bag, but nonetheless the guests will find some cool tech upon opening them.

Flip Video from Pure Digital is an inexpensive video camcorder that uploads directly to YouTube. Guests will find it in their goodie bags, but Pure Digital also announced that they would be giving away $1 million in cameras to non-profit organizations through the CGI. Called the Flip Video Spotlight program, the idea is to help non-profits get their messages out via inexpensive video. The cameras will be doled out over the next five years.

Attendees will also get Moixa's USBCell (a rechargeable battery that is recharged by plugging it into a USB port). It's another favorite of mine. No need for a separate charger or cable. The company believes this will cut down on CO2 emissions. Glad to see that Bill and I endorse the same products.

But the guests don't just show up for the bag. According to the AP, Bill makes his list and checks it twice. Attendees who don't honor their pledge to contribute donations of money or in-kind donations, fall off the invite list. Along with the CGI, the ex-President is launching MyCommitment.org, a site where even the uninvited can pledge to do something good.

How is the Clinton Foundation doing? Just ask them or watch the video.
