'08 Candidates and Their Tastes for Tech

See Hillary Clinton. See the iPod. Hillary wants an iPod. How do I know? Because just before the holidays, the Associated Press asked all the '08 presidential candidates to name their favorite gadgets. What you're about to read is the AP findings along with my "can't resist" interpretations.

The Blue Team

Senator Clinton took the iPod. John Edwards claimed the iPod as his favorite as well. Perhaps a mandatory disclosure of playlists is required?

For Barak Obama, it's all about the BlackBerry. Governor Bill Richardson went for the BlackBerry, too, though he was hip and self-deprecating enough to refer to it as his "CrackBerry."

The Red Team

Romney is an iPod guy. So is Fred Thompson. The only guy who was all for making his own good time was Mike Huckabee, whose favorite gadgets include his laptop and his bass guitar with amplifier.

Bad enough that Checkers the dog and Richard Nixon looked so much alike. Those two set an indelible pattern of matching pets to their presidential owners in my head. Now, I can't help but draw some conclusions about the candidate based on their tech.

Would you prefer your President to be sending his/her staff email missives all day or just staying mellow with the sound of music? Maybe they'd get in less trouble with the iPod?

I want a President who will cut my taxes and the wasteful incompetent government programs that spend it; especially those who try take away my light-bulbs and try to make me buy a plastic car that is not safe for my family. That's who I will vote for. Sorry Hillary you already have almost 1 trillion in new spending aimed at my hard earned money!

Claim to ask *all* cantidates and have only results for 7 then pad with blither about Nixon? Not even list who didn't respond? A great waste. I did want to see what Ron Paul had to say...

Yeah, where's ron paul? I bet his answer would be "I like all electronic devices, save for the ones that violate our constitutional rights" Go ron paul!
