So what do you do if you were the creator of Monster.com, one of the largest job search sites on the web, but you're finding that you and your peers are getting that touch of grey? Well, if you're Jeff Taylor, 45, then you do what age successful web entrepreneurs should. You start a social network for boomers. Eons, is the first website for boomers that's got a serious Web 2.0 feel.

The site says it all. Seventy-one percents of Eons' members are between the ages of 50 and 60 years old; membership is split evenly between men and women. Fun (everything from Sudoku to Serengeti), Love (yes, online dating is the greatest thing since Viagra says an article on the site), Money (retirement focused) Body (a combo of health, diet and beauty) and some more introspective stuff like a Life Map app to document your story and a Goal setting space are Eons' content area. The writing is filled with daring and fire. Skydiving, lifelong learning, epicurean delights, this is a site for those who have lived.

The juicy stuff is the personal profile you can create. Unlike MySpace - the questions are a bit more demure, and less blatant: How's your garden doing? How are you dealing with the summer heat? What's your favorite vacation? Every question on your profile can be made public or private. You can post photos, create blogs and invite friends—just like the kids do.

Fact of life, Eons, has obituaries: celebrations of life, even after it's gone.

Maybe the kids will think this all quaint, but investors are totally on the program. The Boston Globe reported that General Catalyst Partners and Sequoia Capital teamed up to fund Eon, reportedly to the tune of $10 million dollars. For boomers who haven't had a place "to act their age" it will be interesting to say whether they're ready to ride off into that boomer sunset together.

Pay Eons a visit and let me know what you think? Will a boomer network fly or would you rather be lurking on MySpace where no one needs to know that you're a day over 25.
