Like Punxsutawney Phil and his shadow, like Bill Murray and his Groundhog Day purgatory, people who use technology are doomed to experience the same events over and over.

What better time to celebrate the fact that we've been around the tech world long enough to see its shadow than on Groundhog Day?

To celebrate, here's your Groundhog Day Tech Test.

Score a point for each time you've said:

  • This year I'm really going to keep up with the backups.
  • No more eating or drinking around the computer.
  • I'm never giving my email name to another contest again.
  • This year I'm going to automate my life to make it easier.

And one point for each time you've heard:

  • We're getting closer to the paperless office.
  • The next version is the one you really want.
  • It's totally compatible.
  • Don't you want to be able to watch TV on that too?

Done tallying up your score? Now, back to the hole so we can do it again next year! Or add to the test with a Punxsutawney mantra of your own.
