Verizon Wireless Releases Moto Q in Black

I guess there weren't enough black sexy smart phones out there, because today Verizon Wireless released the black version of its Moto Q cell phone. The phone is available online through January, then it becomes available in Verizon's brick-and-mortar stores, according to Engadget.

The phone is rubberized, so it won't scratch as easily as the first version, but unfortunately it looks like it still has annoying, glitchy, crashy Windows Mobile Smartphone Edition, which may let you listen to DRM "subscription" music tracks from the likes of Rhapsody and Yahoo! Music but doesn't let you edit simple Office documents.

I actually prefer the gray version of the Q, simply because it's different from the T-Mobile Dash and the Samsung BlackJack from Cingular Wireless. And thanks to a $100 rebate, the gray version is actually $50 less expensive than the black version, which is totaling out to about $150 with a two-year Verizon commitment.

If you're in the market for a sexy smart phone or just want to give one as a gift, check out my recent roundup of new smart phones.

Would anyone like to see other smart phone colors besides black and gray? If so, what is your favorite?

I'm getting the Motorola Q in Black in the mail tomorrow so I hope it was worth the $350 with the $125 deposit and $79.99 a month
