Thinking about purchasing an Xbox 360 a loved one... or yourself? Microsoft has just unveiled new pack-in titles for all three Xbox 360 systems, geared toward the family audience.

Kotaku is reporting that the Xbox 360 Elite and the Xbox 360 Pro kits will both come with Lego Indiana Jones and Kung Fu Panda, while the Xbox 360 Arcade system will come with Sega Superstars tennis.

Microsoft's family-friendly choices for pack-ins clearly mean one thing: The Xbox 360 is looking to go toe-to-toe with the Nintendo Wii this holiday season. But which Xbox 360 should you pick up?

The obvious no-brainer is to not pick the Arcade bundle. Although it does have an attractive $199 price, the Arcade does not have a hard drive, which will significantly limit the potential of the system, in my opinion.

As for the Elite, I'd have to say avoid this bundle. For an $399 ($100 dollars over the Pro pack), you're getting an extra 60GB of space, an HDMI cable, and a black paint job—a premium price for not that much extra, in my opinion.

Stick with the Pro system. At $299, it's got a relatively good price, two bundled games, a 60GB hard drive, and a wireless controller—everything you need to have an enjoyable experience right out of the box. My definite choice for gaming success.

So, is an Xbox 360 on your horizon?

Get a closer look at the new bundles over at Kotaku.com.

wolverinemarky : none of the 360's have wifi, you have to buy an (external) wifi adapter for $100.

Last christmas i got bought an elite and yesterday i turned it on and it had broken. it turns out i have to send it back to microsoft and they will send me one that also has been broken but fixed. So i say just skip Xbox and go for the PS3. It is better and it doesnt break within 9 months.

The only thing lately is that it seems like there are more programs coming out for the 360 than the PS3. What's up with that?

I have the pro, and my brother has the elite. just to clear something up the pro has a 20 gb hard drive and not 60 like this reports says. The elite has a 120 gb hard drive. The elite seems to run faster than the pro, but both do exactly the same thing. I have at least 50 games in my hard drive and over 400 songs, not to mention demos and videos. And ive only used 10.6 of my 20 gb. If you plan on using it just to play games, go pro. If you want it as your main "computer" type thingy, go elite.

mtezmg: The Pro system now comes with a 60GB, starting in either september, or late august of 2008.

The Pro pack sounds pretty good. And I suppose if you wanted to go with an HDMI connection later (as I did), you could go and buy the cords on your own. They'd run anywhere from $20 to $50, depending on the type you get. I have the smaller hard drive, and since I'm not a big downloader (aside from the random Guitar Hero tracks here and there) I'm nowhere near filling it up after a year and nearly a dozen different games.

You can get an Arcade for $200, and then MS has a promotion where you get a refurbished 20gb HD for $20 dollars. So you are saving $80 over people who bought the Pro (I am one of those people

I am planning on buying an xbox 360 for my 10 year old son....is it REALLY worth it to get the hard drive version over the arcade version for a kid his age??

PS3 is going to die out, it's getting beat so bad right now. I think it depends on your needs. Live has the best online gaming, so if you like that, it's definitely the system for you. Make no mistake with these paks though, 360 isn't the system to be getting if you have kids, Wii easily outranks both PS3 and 360 in the kid's department.

The Elite is worth the cash if you are a gamer. I've never known anyone to regret their elite purchase. The main reasons are in the extra storage capacity. Microsoft is releasing more and more games online and they are taking up vast amounts of storage on the console hard drives. 20gb owners have to remove game addons just to save something. The elite gives owners that added space for the future upgrades, updates, mappacks, extensions of games, aRCADE HITS, etc. You won't regret it in the long-run if you get an elite. As for the high price of the wifi. Do not purchase it in the store at the 100 dollar price tag. Just go out to ebay where you can get one for 30 bucks and a week or two of waiting.

xbox sucks, why would you buy something that millions have had break? like really, who doesnt know someone who has had the ring of death? and ps3 has less games because they are in a blueray format so they are alot more time consuming to make, but they are better qualitly, and why cant they put the wifi in it? like the ps3, mircosoft just wants to bone you another 100 after sucking you in with the 200 price tag

I swithched to the original XBOX after going through 2 PS1's and 3 PS2's. Stupid of me to wait that long. I am still a dinosaur and am still playing the XBOX. Dont know which to buy now or which pack of either to go with. PS will not cut you off like XBOX does immediately after the new system is out. Someone please tell me if I am completely insane for even still thinking about the PS3.
