Looks like the market for top-shelf music controllers is going to be a big one. On Thursday, Logitech announced the Wireless Guitar, Premier Edition for the Playstation 2 and 3 console, specifically designed to bring an ultra-realistic experience to Guitar Hero players.
The guitar, as reported by Kotaku, features a wooden neck, a rose fingerboard, metal frets, metal tuning peg handles, and a touch-sensitive neck slider for those moments when you want to go sans strumming.
Additionally, the guitar also uses Logitech's rubber-dome technology, featured in many of its other keyboards, to minimize button noise. The guitar is also compatible with all Guitar Hero games on Playstation 2 as well as the upcoming Guitar Hero: World Tour for Playstation 3 (No info on Rock Band compatibility or an Xbox Version).
All these premium features don't come cheap—the Wireless Guitar Premier Edition by Logitech will retail for $249 and will go on sale in December, just in time for the holidays.
As a pretty hardcore Guitar Hero/Rock Band nut, I'm left with a tough decision... The Rock Band Ion Drum Rocker or the Wireless Guitar Premier Edition... sigh.
