Don't you just love a holiday price war? The Xbox 360 Arcade/Core will have a new $199 price coming this September, according to a strong rumor coming out of VGChartz.com. The 60GB Pro and 120GB Elite will also drop their prices at the same time, giving the console packs a $299 and $399 price, respectively.
This is a big move on Microsoft's part to try and make a huge impact this holiday season. With the Arcade/Core bundle and Pro bundle hovering above and below the Nintendo Wii's price, expect a lot of 360 units to move (unless Sony decides to drop the PS3 price even further). The new pricing scheme also aligns the Elite with Sony's 80GB PS3.
So which pack is right for you? In my opinion, avoid the Arcade/Core bundle. The $199 price is really attractive, but the lack of a hard drive will prevent you from having a great gaming experience. You'll probably end up ponying up the extra cash for a hard drive at some point anyway. The new 60GB Pro bundle is for sure the best bang for the buck—you get almost all of the features as the Elite version (only differences are 60GB vs 120GB, and the Elite comes with an HDMI cable whereas the Pro you have to buy your own), but at $100 dollars less.Â
So what console is the apple of your eye for this holiday season?

I got an HDMI cable with my pro purchase, at no additional cost. So i dont know where you got that from. Secondly, with the stopping of the 20gb hard drive at 100$ extra, the 60gb, could be the same, or somewhat close. Either way, im happy with the 20gb hard drive atm, atleast until the fall update.
have the 20gb pro and my hdd is almost full hope they come out with the 120 and 60gb hdds with the lowered price so you can upgrade but if i got another 360 i'd get the elite
i got the elite while my friends all went cheap and they all got the red ring of death on theirs...hmmmm i wonder why?
I still wouldnt buy that overpriced peice of crap

I am sure that there will be a bundle with games included link last year.
