After a fun-filled (and tiring) weekend out at the Evolution Fighting Game Championships in Las Vegas, I must say I'm a tad burned out on gaming for this upcoming weekend. However, there are a few new, must-haves that I gotta squeeze in on my time off from work.

Bionic Commando Rearmed (Xbox Live and PSN): Can you say nostalgia? I've been patiently waiting for this game since the teaser trailer came out earlier this year and now it's finally been released to the public. The original Bionic Commando for the NES had unique platforming gameplay, awesome music, and insane difficulty, making it one of my favorite video games of all time. Rearmed boasts newly re-drawn HD graphics, a new health system, new weapons, new boss battles, and a local co-op and deathmatch mode (awesome). Capcom really hit the nail right on the head with Rearmed. Available now for 800 Microsoft points (about $10).

Trauma Center 2: Under the Knife (Nintendo DS): Trauma Center is exactly my type of game. High-pressure situations, fast action, and ridiculous anime-drawn characters make this one of the best series for the Nintendo DS. Under the Knife simply builds more story elements, adds more levels, and gives clearer instructions, which is all I could ask for. TC2 is available now for $29.99, but only those with nerves of steel should apply.

Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core (PSP): I've been out of the Final Fantasy VII loop for quite some time (Dirge of Cerberus, etc), but the buzz around Crisis Core has me intrigued. You pick up the Final Fantasy VII world through the eyes of Zack Fair, a high-ranking member of SOLDIER (and the person whom Cloud Strife has serious identity issues with). Seriously though, if you haven't played the original Final Fantasy VII on PS1 (which is unlikely), do yourself a favor and play it before picking this one up. It would be like watching The Empire Strikes Back before A New Hope. Available now for PSP at $39.99.

That's about it for me this weekend. What are you all getting into this weekend? Let me know if there are any games I should give a try.

Geometry Wars Retro Evolved 2, that is a very addicting game. I'll also be playing some gears of war.
