iPod & iTunes: Import Data from Your Non-Outlook Calendar Program

The iPod Calendar uses the iCalendar and vCalendar formats for storing event data. If you're not using Microsoft Outlook, in order to get your desktop calendar data onto your iPod, you'll need to first export it in one of these formats. Most programs have export functions.

  1. Open My Computer to display your computer's disks.
  2. Notice your iPod is listed as a drive (assuming you have enabled disk usage). Open the iPod drive and see its several folders displayed.
  3. Open the folder into which you exported your iCalendar or vCalendar data. Drag and drop that into the folder in the iPod disk called Calendars.
