So you've got a pocket full of pictures. Now, what can you do with them? You put on a show! The iPod lets you display your photos in a series, with professional-style transitions. Perhaps best of all, you can designate a playlist as the soundtrack, so that if your audience gets bored by your trip to Miami, at least they'll be able to groove along with your choice of tunes.
- From the iPod menu, click Photos | Slideshow Settings. This will bring up a large menu of variables for you to pick from.
- Click Time Per Slide and choose how long you'd like each image displayed before moving on to the next.
- Click Music and choose whether you want music or not; if you do, choose which of your playlists should be the source.
- Choose Repeat if you'd like to keep the slideshow going continuously.
- Turn on Shuffle Photos if you want a random sequence. (Together with the last option, you can set up an interesting party atmosphere.)
- Click Transitions to choose which type of transition to use to slide from one picture to the next, or turn it off if you want straight slideshow style.
- Turn on TV Out if your slideshow will be displayed on your TV.
- Set TV Signal for the type of TV you'll be using. (NTSC is the American standard, PAL the European.)
- Finally, from the Photo menu, choose the folder you want to use for the slideshow, or choose Photo Library if you want everything you've got, and click Play. The slideshow will begin, set to the music of your choice.
