iPod & iTunes: Set Podcast Preferences

  1. Click Edit | Preferences. The iTunes dialog box will open.
  2. Click the Podcasts tab.
  3. Choose how often you want iTunes to check for new episodes from the dropdown list. Set a frequency that matches your listening habits.
  4. Choose what you want iTunes to do when it finds new episodes. You'll probably want to select Download Most Recent One, since that's why you've subscribed.
  5. Finally, decide if you want to keep old episodes, and if so how far back. iTunes lets you keep as many as 10 previous episodes, or all of them. Balance how likely you are to listen to these old episodes against how much spare disk space you've got.
  6. Click OK when you're finished.
