After several months of picture taking, your hard drive may have hundreds or thousands of images. If you employ good housekeeping and segregate similar image files into a named folder when you download them from your camera to the computer, you've taken the first step in organizing your photos. The Photoshop Elements Browser is your biggest ally when it comes to organizing your digital image library.
Launch the File Browser
- Launch Photoshop Elements.
Choose Window | File Browser. The following image shows the File Browser as launched within Photoshop Elements.

You can also launch the File Browser by clicking the File Browser icon within Photoshop Elements.
Navigate to a Folder of Images
The Photoshop Elements Browser defaults to the last folder you viewed. The following steps show how to navigate through the folders on your hard drive to view the desired folder.
- Launch the File Browser.
In the Directory window, select your main image folder. After selecting your main image folder, the subfolders appear in the main window on the right side of the browser, as shown next.
Double-click a folder to display thumbnail versions of the images within the folder, as shown next.

You can resize the windows in the File Browser, by clicking and dragging the dividers.

You can move images into another folder by selecting their thumbnails in the browser window and dropping them into the desired folder.
