Windows XP Tools and Utilities Headaches: My computer shows the wrong date/time.

Cause Windows XP keeps track of the date and time, even when the computer is not turned on (through a small battery). If the date and time that appear in your notification area are not correct, you can easily adjust them.

The Pain Killer To change the date and/or time, follow these steps:

  1. Right-click the time in your notification area and click Adjust Date/Time, or click Start | Control Panel, Date and Time.
  2. On the Date and Time tab, adjust the date and time as necessary, and verify that the time zone is correct. Click OK.
