Games & Gear : Xbox 360

Sure it was pricey. Sure I had to wait in line for 15 hours at a Best Buy in the Ghetto in the freezing cold. IT WAS WORTH IT!! I have played the piss out of it and have experienced ZERO problems. I have it sittin atop my TV and it has never locked up or experience any other problems the media had announced. The graphics are phenominal. The sound is unbelieveable. It will be very hard for Sony and its Blue Ray technology to even come close. My only beefs with the 360 are the lack of Games, the inability for you to RIP MP3's to the Hard drive and the most important BEEF of all....The inability to play ALL of the original XBOX games. I really hope Microsoft creates emulators for all the original games and not just ones they think are the popular games. I need MORTAL KOMBAT DECEPTION!! So quit whinning about the price, because it's worth it. Go and get a second job and work a couple of weeks until you get the ducketts to buy the 360 then quit the job. This thing rules, flat out. It's drawbacks are minor issues, and the pros can go on forever.

So yeh, it does have a couple cons, such as the fact that it is rather sensitive to heat. Placing this thing in an enclosed area will make it suck, as will placing near other heat producing entertainment components. I have no lock ups on mine, but my buddies locked while it was sitting next to his HD receiver (mucho caliente).

Pros- Well for starters, it has been released. That puts it on top in my book by a LOT. Graphics and sound are top-end PC quality or BETTER, for a fraction of the cost of a gaming PC. The wireless controller has no lag at all, there are excellent games available (i.e Oblivion, Ghost Recon), and you can even use custom soundtracks for games using your iPod.

The Xbox360 is really great, but there has always seemed to be problems with mostly every bit of it. Bad packing causes damaging, you have to update before you play-or else it might burn your disks(that's what happened to me), overheats very easily. Hide Full Review

games graphics and sounds are great. im on my 3rd xbox in 6 months. the last one i used once and it died. stay away from this junk. I sell electronics and i will no longer give a favorable opinion. stay with PS3 or Wii Hide Full Review

I've owned an Xbox for about 2 years. We even use the media center extender software extensively with our Media Center PC. When the 360 came out, I was very interested in the increased performance - HD gaming, wireless controllers built in, media center extender built in, etc. All of the above are great and the ability to download demos is fantastic. However, the backward compatibility is terrible. I own a total of 11 games and only 4 are currently compatible. They say future updates are coming, but what good is that right now? My favorite Xbox game (and that of many others) is Star Wars Battlefront II. It's not compatible!! A major game with a lot of fans is totally useless on the Xbox 360. Further, there's no HD cable included with the core package. A HD console that isn't really HD?! And finally - don't forget that absolutely no games are backward compatible unless you buy a package with a hard drive or purchase one separately. Hide Full Review
