Scanners : Epson Perfection 1250U Photo

I have had all kinds of problems with it. First it smelled like burned electrical material. Then if warm would not scan, only make black smudges on paper. Then would bring itself up on screen and I could not get rid of it without shutting computer down. Now it will not reconize the internet. I have to reinstall it every week or programs will not reconise it. Hide Full Review

This is the biggest flop Epson has ever made. Their smart panel-TWAIN just basicly takes up space on your hard drive. Since all that it does is "it don\'t work!" The only thing consistant with this scanner is problems. Very difficult get it to scan to file, Email, printer etc. if it does it at all. Most of the time spent entering and re-entering program commands and have nothing happen. It also takes too many steps to perform a function even after you download the driver updates. Overall I rate this as junk and not worth even having one no matter what the price. I wouldn\'t give a nickel for this unit. Hide Full Review

This scanner is a disgrace to the good name and reputation of Epson. It wouldn\'t do anything that it was supposed to do. Even after going deep into the program and setting the controls manually it wouldn\'t work properly. The smart screen twain program is a total laugher. Once and awhile it manages to get a scan to file. Printing directly from scanner to printer is not going to happen. Even after you go to Epson\'s support site and download new driver for it. When you try to print a saved file from documents or wherever you managed to get something sent to and if it really was there printing was another story. A 20KB document I was using to test drive it when I finally got it to print came out of the printer in bits and pieces on 27 pages of paper! After talking to Epson for an hour on the phone (long distance, my dollar)and resetting every thing manually it managed to send to file one picture and print it when asked. But there was about fifteen steps to go through to get that and you have to do that for each and every scan. The scanning time itself was something that need to be mentioned also. When you start a scan you might as well go and make some coffee and make a sandwich you will have plenty of time to enjoy them before you have to go through all tose steps again for another scan. Another thing is it isn\'t heavy enough for a boat anchor so it even isn\'t any good for that. Two thumbs down! Hide Full Review
