Printers : HP LaserJet 3330 mfp

I have been happy with several other HP printers and was thrilled to save some deskspace when the HP 3330 mfp came out by combining my copier and fax into one. I figured the scanning function was a bonus.
Unfortunately, I've been quite disappointed by the HP 3330 mfp:
1) the copier does not copy full width, but leaves between 1/4" and 1/2" on each side uncopied. That's not good enough when I need to be able to read what's in the margins after I copied something.
2) the scanner's quality was poor. When scanning in the same shade of color, the color on the screen was no longer the same....
3) I share a phone line for my home and fax. The idea is that the answering machine picks up all calls, and when it's a fax, the 3330 mfp recognizes this and picks up. Usually that's how it actually works out (that's good), but sometimes the 3330mfp just ignores the fax. I always wonder what opportunities I missed out on when I have a series of beeps on my answering machine. Hide Full Review

I just had it a little over 1 year, and the scanner bulb started not working well. I had to unplug and wait sometime to plug it back on. At the beginning it just need few minutes, then few hours, now I don't know, have to keep trying unplug and plug. I am very sick of it now.

The worst is it affect the whole machine that I could not print.

I had another Canon 4 in 1, the scanner didnt work neither, but at least I can still use it as a printer. Hide Full Review

scan bulb warm up warning and crash. Starts with just a little problem once in a while but soon the machine is worthless. The first time it happened I did some searching on the internet and was greatly disheartened to find that this is not a rare occurence and there is no help for a cure. I kept my fingers crossed but to no avail. I will take out my frustration and irritation by smashing it with a sledge hammer. Perhaps then I will feel I got my moneys worth - these things weren't cheap! Hide Full Review

I Bought this huge thing to go with my Mac G4 and it was rather expensive (over $700 if I recall). The printer and copier both worked for about a year. Then the copy function quit working. Also, the printer worked only when it felt like it. This thing did not come with an owner's manual, so I was never able to discover how to operate it properly.
Now it is two years later and the copy machine has never worked. It still makes great prints from my Mac (when it wants to) and today I tried the scanner for the first time. What a surprise ! The scanner does not work.
When I push "Scan To" it says WAITING FOR PC and when I push "Start Scan" it says NOT SET UP ON PC.
This machine would be useful for anyone who needs great high-quality prints but is prepared to not get upset if it is not feeling like printing just when you need them. Just wait a couple weeks and they will eventually appear (although once it took two months, I think).
If you want it to scan and make copies, however . . . well, you should probably buy some other machine and use this one as a boat anchor. Hide Full Review

I have used this printer for about 1 year. I have 2 in my office. It is a workhorse and I have had zero problems with it. The document feeds true with alignment being perfect every time. Faxes are received and sent with ease from the machine or directly from the computer.
Two-Sided Auto Printing is flawless.
Print Quaility is excellent as it is qith my HP 3600N Color Printer.

I print about 700 pages a day between faxes, Invoices, Purchase orders, Reports, and UPS documentation.

I strongly recommend this to anyone, I just purchased my second one at a price of $299, a remarkable value. Hide Full Review
