I have had this camera since December of 2005 and already used it to take thousands of pictures and they are amazing! I use to use my mom's Canon camera before but I was tired of using her camera so I bought my own and have yet to regret it yet. I work for RadioShack so I get to play with all of the "latest and greatest" cameras, but I'm not ready to give up my camera yet, nothing else compares. It has traveled with me all the way from Wisconsin to Dominica in the Caribbeans. Someone mentioned that it did not work in humid situations? Dominica is a small little island surrounded by the ocean and it is extremely humid there, it is impossible to even be inside not covered in moisture, my camera did not fail one time. The only problem I have ever had with it being too humid was in Pensacola, Fl one morning. I turned it on to take pictures of the ocean and the lense fogged up, but I wiped it off and it was fine and the pictures came out really good.
My mission trip with my Church to Dominica I thought at first was going to kill my camera because of it being soo humid, but I ended up with over 700 pictures and only about 10-16 pictures I had to delete because I was moving the camera while taking a picture causing it to be blurry, not a bad ratio at all for succesful pictures to bad. With my mission trip to Wisconsin at Northland Christian College, I was helping build a building there and there was dirt, saw dust, and other stuff around the camera and it didn't phase it. I mean it even started to rain while we were working and I was taking pictures straight out in the rain and the camera didn't care at all! This is one tuff camera! I don't regret spending $230 on it (after it went on sale and employee discount :D ). I would have easily paid the $400 for it and still not regretted spending that much, it is well worth every penny.
The camera is still going full force today and I was going to upgrade to a V603 or something like that, but I'm sticking with the original. This is the best looking camera that I have seen and I especially love the top with the "Razr" like buttons and the whole aluminum look to it. This camera has had soo much abuse but has kept on ticking. I mean for crying out loud, my brother and I put the camera right next to exploding fireworks and mud went flying all over it and the videos came out great! Of course that did the most damage to the camera but it still worked fine other than the fact that it made a grinding noise from mud being inside the lense house...in which has been repaired now thanks to the warranty.
Not once have I gone somewhere and someone not ask me how much I want for it or where can they get one. It is great for candid shots and that is what I'm know for, taking pictures when no one is expecting it, I have over a thousand "candid" shots with this thing. I keep it in my pocket (which fits without a problem) and when I see something I want to take a picture of, take it out, hit the power button, then hit the capture button and then hit the power and put it in my pocket before anyone even knew I took a picture of them. It loads up really quick and is almost instantly ready to take pictures, I have taken some hilarious pictures and showed it to the people I took the picture of and they ask me when on earth did I take the picture because they don't remember me having my camera out. I got a Australian made case for it and keep it in my pocket and of course I bought I think like 5 extra batteries for those "just in case" moments. But at the most I use up only 3 at a time, but that is with a ton of pictures. I highly reccomend this camera to anyone that is looking for a cheap small camera that wants incredible pictures without sacrificing quality by being soo small.
Sorry for the long review, but this camera deserves it, thanks Kodak!
