Cell Phones : Palm Treo 700w Smartphone

This is a great phone and it is really easy to use once you get used to it. It does help if you have a understanding about Palms and Pocket PCs. The Memory is typical for a PDA and the speed is normal for a PDA. The screen resolution is not the greatest and the reason is on programs that are older and designed for Pocket PC 2002 and 2003 does not work on this Palm because of the 240x240. But this is not on all programs. I hope to see a driver file that will fix this. But the newer programs don't have that problem. But overall it is a great phone and palm and for me it was a wise choice for me to make. Hide Full Review

I have owned several different versions of the treo including the 600, 650, and finally the 700. The phone is intended to integrate several multi-media functions, but becomes confused when utilizing these functions throughout the course of the day. The phone experiences software meltdowns and mysterious power-downs without warning. Luckily, the power-downs always happen at the worst time possible. After two years of supporting the Treo, I urge you to shop other devices before making the purchase. Hide Full Review

I loved this device and it's versatility. That's why I was deeply disappointed that it died with just under 13 months of use. FYI...warranty is 12 months! I had a technician take it apart and he indicated it had corrosion on the mother board. I never got it wet! He indicated he had seen this before on these. Palm wants $125 just to send it in and diagnose. I have not replaced it nor repared it. Still have a few months left on 2 year contract with Cingular. Looking for another solution...not likely to spend that kind of money for 13 months again Hide Full Review

I tried the phone out for a week and returned it. I several days and many hours working out their bugs with data and tech support. Did not ring and continually sent calls to voice mail My major complaint is that is was unreliable for email. Plus it was hefty and is designed for a right handed person. when does a phone stop being a phone .... right here... what ever happend to using a laptop or desktop computer .. i think this is too much .... a waste of technology .... but what the heck i got one so its GREATTT!!! Hide Full Review
